Positive Results:

A positive result is indicative of the presence of SARS-CoV-2 RNA but does not rule out bacterial infection or co-infection with other viruses. You should consult with your physician regarding a positive result. If you are sick with COVID-19 or think you might have it, follow the steps below to help protect other people in your home and community. There is no specific medicine to prevent or treat coronavirus disease (COVID-19). If you develop a server fever, cough, and have difficulty breathing, promptly seek medical care.

Negative Results:

A negative result only indicates that SARS-CoV-2 RNA was not detected. A negative result does not preclude the presence of COVID-19 and must be combined with clinical observations, patient history, and epidemiological information for patient management. In addition, a false negative test result may occur in cases of suboptimal or insufficient sample material or as a result of improper specimen collection. You should consult with your physician if you have any questions or concerns.
